About

The Microbusiness Blog Network aggregates the work of some of the foremost writers, thinkers and advocates in the microbusiness space.

The goal is to have a single source for the latest ideas about owning and operating a microbusinesses — the practical as well as the academic and the philosophical. In addition, it’s a chance for microbusiness owners and advocates to find the best micro-specific blogging on the Web.

So, why do we need a separate network for microbusiness bloggers? After all, there are already plenty of small business blogging networks, entrepreneurial blogging networks, and more.

Very true. But none of those networks will offer much from the microbusiness perspective, just like most of what you read in the small business press is geared toward larger small businesses. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But we’re betting that much (if not most) of what you read there will be content you can’t relate to.

Here, we won’t push you to grow your business by hiring more people but we’ll share what we’ve learned about technologies and business models that let you grow your revenues without saddling yourself with a larger organization than you want.

Here, we won’t tell you that you “ought to” be running your business like everybody else in your industry does but we will share stories with you about new and different business models and the creative ways microbusiness owners can come up with to make up for the fact that they’re as small as they are.

Here, we won’t forget that the people who own and operate microbusinesses are people first and economic phenomenon second. We know that money is important but so are a lot of other things. We understand that you know that, too.

I think you get the idea …

If you know of any quality microbusiness bloggers we missed who you think should be included here — folks who blog about microbusinesses, not just business bloggers who happen to run one — please use the Contact page to let us know about them. This is not a closed club and the more exposure we can generate for microbusiness voices, the better.
